Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century, The cheerful Shichifukujin (Seven Gods of Happiness), sitting, playing musical instruments, dancing or standing with their respective attributes on the open deck of an elaborate sailing ship, the single-pole mast with one large wind-blown sail, the hull of simulated wooden planks with a rooster figurehead, finely worked figures, some minor damage and some missing parts (minimal, a.o. arm of one figure), dim. 50 x 55 cm.
